The First Dual-type Highway Yangtze River Bridge Be Built This Year




The first dual-type highway Yangtze River Bridge will be built over the Yangtze River in Wuhan after the first Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge and the first tunnel across the Yangtze River. Wuhan Yangsigang Yangtze River Bridge, the first dual-type highway Yangtze River Bridge will begin construction in this year, known from urban construction department of Wuhan. It is a suspension highway bridge with dual deck, costing more than 8 billion RMB.

Yangsigang Yangtze River Bridge located at the upstream of Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge and 3 kilometers to the downstream of Baishazhou Bridge. As an important river-crossing tunnel in the west of the second loop line in Wuhan city, it connects Hanyang and Wuchang District which are two of three famous towns in Wuhan/
The 4317.8-meter-long bridge starts from Guobo Viaduct in Hanyang Guobo Avenue, ends at Batan Road, Baishazhou Avenue, crossing Yingwu Avenue, Binjiang Avenue, the Yangtze River.   
Yangsigang Yangtze River Bridge is the first dual-type highway Yangtze River Bridge while all other bridges along the Yangtze River are “highway and railway “bridges. The main bridge is 1700 meters, 33-meter-wide with 12 lanes in two directions and two decks. The upper and lower decks are both 6 lanes with designed speed at 80 and 60 kilometers/hour separately. Besides, pedestrian passageway is designed.
