The Fourth Nanjing Bridge over the Yangtze River, having a total length of 5.448km and a deck of six traffic lanes in dual direction, is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.
The main bridge is a three-suspended-span suspension bridge with a central span of 1418m.
The main features of the bridge are: (1) The application of a new device restrains the cable movement in the vertical direction at the transition piers; (2) A new distributed cable anchor system is adopted to avoid the stress concentration of all components in the anchorage system; (3) A new"∞"type diaphragm wall is adopted for the foundation of the south anchorage to reduce its construction cost.
